A "catechumen" is an ancient word for one who is being initiated into the divine mysteries, one in whom the sacred word echoes. My spiritual journey has taken me from the Pentecostal tradition to being a priest in the Anglican tradition; and a Catechumen for many years of the Eastern Orthodox Church, before finally becoming Orthodox. I was given the nickname of the "Catacomb Catechumen" at a time when I was keeping my journey into Orthodoxy a secret.
